Chef Gason Nelson

The Houston Creole Heritage Festival is proud, and honored,  to announce that Chef Gason Nelson, The NOLA Chef, has agreed to be our Guest Chef in our VIP lounge April 11, 2020.  Having him on board gives a whole new meaning to VIP.   He’s a business owner, chef, teacher, and has traveled with NFL player Reggie Bush for 7 years sharing his cuisine creating talents.  We love his personal philosophy too, ” Food is my life – my true passion and purpose. I wake up in the morning thinking about what I’m going to cook, and when I go to sleep, I dream of everything I ate. I love to share my passion for food, make someone smile, and share the gift of cooking a great meal. Life is too short to eat bad food.”  We can attest to food being his passion.  Mention holiday recipes, and bam, he’s in the kitchen creating dishes at the crack of dawn while the rest of us are fighting the urge to stay in bed.

Looking at his extensive resume gives even more insight into his energy and drive: “Global cooking instructor”.  We’re talking worldwide and the Official New Orleans/Creole chef teaching cooking classes to foodies across the world via Skype. He’s hosted major events with hundreds of attendees including The Gourmet Food & Wine Expo in Canada and loves to teach classes about Jambalaya, Po Boys, Gumbo,  and New Orleans BBQ Shrimp.
