then travel south on Almeda St. ->

**The Houston Mardi Gras Parade is an annual event organized by Houston SHOP Inc. – a 501c non-profit organization.**

Payment is not required for your online application. However, if you submit an application online, and make payment, our parade coordinator will be able to include your information in promotions.
Qualifications
By completing the Registration Form to participate in our Annual Houston Creole Heritage Mardi Gras Parade, You, (Parade Participant) understand that not all applicants will be selected for participation. Festival Management reserves the right to accept or decline any application.
BANDS
- Entire band must perform in uniforms or themed costumes, no sweat suits or t-shirts
DRILL/DANCE/CHEERLEADING TEAMS
- 25 minimum participants
- All groups must perform as they are moving forward
- Teams must be dressed in uniforms/costumes
EQUESTRIANS
- Organized unit with 10+ horses
- Flashy, coordinated costumes
SPECIALTY UNITS
- Groups that do not fall into above categories
- Unique entries or special appearances
- Must exhibit showmanship and delight spectators
- Requires coordinated costuming
FLOATS/SPECIALTY VEHICLES / HELIUM BALLOON
- All floats must align with a Mardi Gras theme and must be constructed by a professional float builder.
- Specialty vehicle entries including vintage cars/trucks and unique industrial or service vehicles are welcome.
- Vehicles must be in good condition. Proof of insurance required.
